          Robert Corlin served in the US Army for 8 years as an 88M, Truck Driver,and 6 years as a 74B, Systems Analyst Operator. Robert Corlin is currently working at Bamberg County Hospital,BCH and has been since 2005; he started working as a PC tech, became the Interim Director for almost two years, and now serves as the IT Director. since working at the hospital, Robert has coordinated the restructuring of the physical communications network, centralized servers, workstation management, wireless authentication and management, configured and deployed a browser-based collaboration and document-management server, and has decreased total Information Technology operating expenses by $231,127.86 YTD. He also has coordinated with Reach Call and configured the firewall to allow for PACs images to flow to their servers for reading and remote patient diagnosis in the ER.

          His latest mission is coordinating with BCH,CPSI, and CMS with providing education for department heads on electronic health records or EMR inititives and purchase systems that are needed to comply with stage one EHR initiatives. He is also finding rural IT grants to help with the purchase of new high-end servers to reduce the current footprint and enhance information availability. He works about 50-60 hours a week and is solely responsible for all data/voice communications, computer/server support, and management of the department.
